BIOGRAPHY

Saccharine Trust were formed in 1980 in LA and became the third Band on the label SST after Black Flag and Hüsker Dü. The attitude was punkrock, but poet Jack Brewer gave it a strong element of beat/slam poetry and guitar player/painting artist Joe Baiza already showed his taste of jazz, that became more elaborate in his later bands the Universal Congress Of and the Mecolodiacs. Until '85 they released several albums also with other artists, all on SST. Ten years later it was time for a reunion, Brewer and Baiza took Brian Christopherson and Chris Stein, started performing in LA and toured the States in 97 and 98. In 99 they came over to Germany to record at Hazelwood and to give their first concerts in Europe.
