WHY DAWN IS CALLED MOURNING
HAZ069
Since the assumed giants John (Flansburgh) and John (Linell) not many have baked white bread as luminescent and as heavily laden with self-will, as the two pairs of siblings from the Skärgården. Neon-soaked pop-hymns with a lot of euphony and not much hullabaloo, and a singer, who sings his heart out of his scraggy body, like the young Bowie (although one has to be careful with a comparison like that) dared for last time. Worn down in metres and cadenzas of symphonic range, interspersed with quotations of good taste from McCartney to Simon, which never decay to an eclecticism but, because of a staccato of peculiarity, are even more the salt in the soup. With their third album Nervous Nellie arrived in the everything-is-possible. For those among you, who are able to twinkle while being tearful, ?Why Dawn Is Called Mourning? will become a ceremony on a tight rope. |
