Between Mälarstrand and Hammarby, on the island Riddarholmen, you can find Södermalm with its art-district SoFo: Hot Spot of Stockholm at the dawn of the 21st century, cultural germ cell, a refuge for young free thinkers, home of NERVOUS NELLIE. If the band of the two pairs of siblings – the Johnsons (bearded) and the Johanssons (non-bearded) – doesn’t hang around at their Villa ´Villekulla´ somewhere in the grasslands nearby the city, they meet like-minded people in the clubs and cafés of the district or push a pram through `Vitabergsparken´, trying to keep the dogs under control while debating and discussing. Johnossi, the Shout Out Louds, Mando Diao, Bored Man Overboard, Friska Viljor, The Concretes, Dag för dag, Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn & John ... considering the size of Södermalm, an appreciator of Scandinavian music culture might be easily stunned, recognising the illustrious society of promenaders. One knows another... That in such a blessed place all kinds of musical ideas comes into being, shouldn’t surprise. Not the clothes, but the walk in the park makes the man.
