Like the paddlewheel through the stormy Mississippi, southern folk music eats through the grooves of a vinyl record, spraying, groaning, going crazy, recreating itself. Out of the innards of the steamer springs forth an urgent wild mixture of Cajun and Bluegrass, Cumbia and Tex-Mex in the unrestrained dialect of the south. DM BOB & COUNTRY JEM drag punk into the Louisiana swamps, conscious of their tender moody fatalism about the bayou and are as happy as rascals in a colossal prank. BUM STEER is an intoned exuberance, a blooming mixture out of all thats right - deep in the south, where water is thicker than blood and the early bird is food for the alligator.
